Where is Vintage garden Spa located ?

Vintage Garden Spa is based in Ossett, West Yorkshire and is just a 5 minute drive from junction 40 of the M1 motorway.

Is the spa at your home and will there be any other clients present during our day spa ?

Yes, the spa is located in our lovely private garden, surrounded by a wonderful array of shrubs and colourful flower displays. Your visit is entirely exclusive to you and no other guests will be present throughout your visit.

What is the maximum amount of people you can cater for on one of your day spa packages ?

Vintage garden Spa can accommodate groups of up to 4 people on our spa days.

What do I need to bring with me ?

If you/your party are booked for a day spa package you will just need your swimsuits.

Towels, robes and slippers are all provided for your comfort. Please bring minimum personal possessions with you.

You will also get a handy email reminder the week before your appointment with details about your visit.

Do I need to choose my treatments before I visit ?

As we all feel differently from day to day you can choose your treatment on the day of your visit. We will discuss which treatment will benefit you the most depending on what you feel you need that day.

What treatments am I able to choose from ?

Treatment options are listed on the booking system for each package type.

The treatments I can offer are:  Indian Head massage, Swedish massage, aromatherapy massage, pregnancy massage, holistic facial, express facial, rose quartz crystal healing facial, hot stone massage and lava shell massage. These may be subject to change and some treatments may incur an additional cost, so it’s best to check at the time of booking what treatments are available for your particular package.

Do you have free parking at the spa ?

Yes. There are 2 spaces to park on our drive and you are able to park on the road in front of the house. I do ask that as many of you car share if possible and kindly request that no one in your party parks in front of neighbouring houses or blocks any of our neighbours drives.

How do I pay for my appointment ?

No payment is taken upon your initial booking. Your card details are required to confirm your appointment and to allow me to take payment should you not give the required notice as per my cancellation policy.

You can pay for your appointment on the day of your visit. This can be done via cash or bank transfer. I do not accept cheques

Do you cater for specific diets such as Gluten free, Vegan, Dairy free, Vegetarian etc ?

Unfortunately I am unable to cater for specific diets other than a vegetarian option as I can not guarantee a completely ‘free from’ environment. All  food is home baked in an environment where common known allergens are present including: wheat, dairy, nuts, eggs.  Many of my bakes also include these allergens.

This doesn’t of course mean you can’t visit at all ! I do have some treatment based packages only and you are welcome to contact me to see how we can adapt things so you can still visit with your friends.

I have a nut allergy, can I still visit for a day spa package with afternoon tea ?

I am able to omit nuts from food served, however I am unable to completely guarantee a nut free environment.

If you have an an allergy to single specific foods (eg: strawberries) then please add another on the ‘additional information’ section on the booking form so I am able to omit these from your afternoon tea menu.

I do have a range of products used in treatments that are safe for nut allergy sufferers. 

 

I need to change/cancel my booking. Will I be charged ?

You are welcome to change or cancel your appointment at any time. This can be done through the link in the email confirmation you received on booking, on your reminder email or by contacting me directly.

Charges will apply if the required minimum period of notice is not given. Please see our cancellation policy for further details. This can be found HERE and was also sent to you on your booking confirmation email. 

What is the minimum age for visiting Vintage Garden Spa ?

All visitors must be 14 years old and above. All young people under the age of 18 will need a chaperone and written parental consent will be required for any treatments to go ahead.

I wear self tan, am I still able to use the hot tub ?

Hygiene and cleanliness is of paramount importance here at Vintage Garden Spa.

Due to oils, creams and colourants contaminating the hot tub filters and affecting water sanitisation and quality, self tan users are not able to use the hot tub facility. If you have previously used self tan then you MUST be at least 4 weeks self tan free before visiting. 

I regret breast feeding mother’s are also unable to use the hot tub for health and hygiene reasons.All guests will be required to arrive freshly showered without applying make up, deodorants, moisture lotions etc 

I would also appreciate it if you could ensure your swimsuit is free of washing detergent residue by rinsing it in clear water before you visit. This helps to keep our hot tub water sparkling clean for you and reduce the amount of foam that residual detergent creates with the jets and warm temperature.  

Swimwear should be made of traditional ‘swimwear’ type fabric. T-shirts and shorts can not be worn in the tub, so male clients will need to bring appropriate swim trunks.

*Please be aware: Anyone arriving wearing any of the above mentioned products will be strictly denied use of the hot tub, so please ensure all your party are aware of this to avoid disappointment. Due to a few occasions when a small minority of past guests have not followed the hot tub terms of use (resulting in damaged filters and several hours of deep cleaning to clear contaminants), there is now a £50 decontamination fee payable by your group should anyone in your party use the hot tub without adhering to the above terms & conditions (These T&C’s are also highlighted upon booking your appointment and in your email reminder).

I recently dyed my hair, can I still use the hot tub ?

Please ensure there is no colour running from your hair before your visit as this will contaminate the water. 

I have a verruccae/athletes foot, can I still visit and use the hot tub ?

As these conditions are highly contagious I ask that you are never bare foot during your visit and wear an appropriate specialised athletes foot/verrucae sock.

Do you sell alcohol or include it in your packages ?

I do not have a licence to serve or sell alcohol, however I understand that guests may want to visit to celebrate a special occasion. Due to this I do allow guests to bring a small amount of alcohol for a celebratory drink. However, no guests can be intoxicated to receive treatment and guests should be aware that using the hot tub increases the effects that alcohol has on the body.

Vintage Garden Spa is an environment where peace, calm and quiet tranquility is maintained and I ask all guests to respect this in their behaviour at all times. Rowdy, loud and disruptive behaviour is not acceptable and guests may be requested to leave if their behaviour disrupts our calm environment. Please ensure that you either arrive by taxi, or have a drink free guest with you as all cars will need to be taken away with you when you leave.

I have a health condition, am I still able to use the hot tub and receive a spa treatment ?

Having a health condition does not necessarily prevent you from having a treatment or using our facilities. Some health conditions such as active cancer, unstable blood pressure or poorly controlled diabetes are contraindicated with treatments and also hot tub use.

Do you have disabled access ?

Access to the spa is through double gates, our drive does have quite a slope upwards to get to them.  The cabin itself and entrance to it is wide enough for wheelchair access. There is a small step into the cabin. Our hot tub has a 2 level step and is quite high so may pose a risk to anyone with mobility issues. Please note that bathroom facilities are inside the main house and accessed by a flight of stairs.

Do you offer pregnancy massage ?

Yes I do ! All Mum’s to be will need to discuss visiting with their midwife before visiting, as you will be asked to confirm you have your midwife or GP approval for you to receive any treatments. This can be given verbally by your GP/midwife at one of your check ups. You must also be past the first trimester to receive any spa treatments. All pregnancy massage treatments are given side laying on a specialised, contoured memory foam cushion to support the lower back and baby bump. Facials are given on a massage couch and the upper body is positioned slightly raised to prevent laying flat and is adjusted for your preference and comfort.  

Please be aware that I am unable to advise on whether the hot tub is safe to use during pregnancy as many manufacturers differ in opinion. You may wish to speak with your midwife/GP for advice on whether it is safe for you to use this facility.
