About

Our spa

Vintage Garden Spa offers individually tailored treatments and specialises in creating memorable spa day experiences with a unique twist. Our quirky, boutique garden spa has been created to provide an ethos of exclusivity. I don’t have appointments crammed into every available space- you’ll find no conveyor belt of guests here and I only ever accept one group or booking at a time. So our guests are able to completely let go and relax with the rare opportunity to enjoy our space and each others company in complete privacy.

Vintage garden spa was designed ‘exclusively for you’.

Nestled within the Rhubarb Triangle, between Leeds and Wakefield in the small but quaint town of Ossett, the spa is just a few minutes drive from junction 40 of the M1 motorway.

Our vintage inspired log cabin and garden space captures the essence of a quaint, forgotten feel of older times. Where social media, mobile phones and busy juggling acts between work and home life didn’t exist.

We offer you a moment to ’step back in time’, to an era when taking time for tea and rest was important.

Whether it’s as a couple wanting to spend a romantic day together, or a good old catch up with friends & family.

My goal is to help you re-connect with the people you love in one special, timeless moment.

Our Space

Our log cabin is warmly inviting from the moment you step inside, from the vintage decor to up-cycled preloved furniture, you’ll instantly feel like you’ve entered another world. Our heated floor and vintage wing back chairs will help you to snuggle up on a cold winters day while you put your feet up to relax on our footstools. Bring a book, flick through our magazines or even relax with our adult colouring books while having a good old natter and you will have the makings of a perfectly cosy, restful day.

A wonderfully energising and invigorating hydrotherapy jet spa is tucked privately behind our log cabin and while you relax and soothe aching muscles, you can look out from under our beautiful pergola with rambling flowering vine, onto our private garden with a lovely array of plants and shrubs.

Treatments range from a variety of massages, whether you prefer hot stones or hands on, you can be assured your treatments will be perfectly tailored for you. Our facials also include massage techniques, to relax, ease away tension and bring out your inner glow.

I am able to cater for groups between 2-4 people and spa day packages also include a homemade vintage afternoon tea served on vintage crockery. Relax and enjoy a lovely afternoon feasting on a plentiful array of freshly prepared sandwiches, warm scones with jam and clotted cream and a variety of lovingly prepared cakes and bakes.

Our log cabin offers a calming space for all individual appointments. When group packages visit, the cabin is dedicated to your group for you dto relax in and treatments are given individually for your group in our garden inspired treatment room in the main house.   also invite you to take your tea outside into the garden if you wish. We have a patio, with comfy garden seating & table where you can spend the afternoon in the sunshine, listening to our waterfall and feathered visitors who will often happily sing for you.

I am proud to have attained a 5* excellent food hygiene rating since opening and have also received  Trip Advisors

‘Centre of Excellence’ Award and ‘Travellers choice’ award the past two years running.

My goal is to go above and beyond for all my guests and I am incredibly grateful to have achieved such lovely feedback from visitors, giving our spa 5* reviews across all review platforms.

What was once an idea to create a local and personal experience for guests to come and take time out to relax, has since flourished to become a much loved haven for guests, many of whom travel from all across the Yorkshire region and return time and time again.

I am a big believer that the little things matter, and for this reason nothing is overlooked to ensure you have not only a a relaxing, but memorable visit.

The best way to experience everything that Vintage Garden Spa has to offer is to come and visit !

Meet The Owner & Therapist

Hi, I’m Sam and I am the owner and sole therapist at Vintage Garden Spa.

Before opening the spa, I worked as a mental health nurse and clinical team leader in the NHS for over 15 years.

After many years working with people with many mental and physical health issues. I understand that there is much more to our overall well being than just focusing on the treatment of health concerns, after they have become a problem.

Having been qualified in massage for a number of years,  I could see what a positive difference complimentary therapies could make.

In late 2016 I made the decision to leave behind the medical model of health, retrain and work in a more holistic way. Taking a proactive approach to help others maintain positive emotional and mental health and while promoting good physical health. As we now know, there are many factors that enable us to feel ‘healthy’ and each single positive thing we do for ourselves, to help us feel good, contributes to our over all health & well-being.

My love of hands on therapies led to me to create a unique and safe space, to help you feel good both inside and out. The treatments I provide are not solely based on physical results but are tailored to you in a way that will help you to ‘let go’ of the accumulated stress we all too often carry with us.

We all carry negative stress in different ways, whether it shows in our emotions, behaviour or physically with areas of tension, aches or pains. We all may have common problems, yet we are each individual with different needs.

My purpose is to help provide a solution that works best for you.

Rather than offer many different services, which can be sometimes confusing to choose !

I keep the services I offer simple, yet very effective and tailor the way I work to meet your needs.

I understand that these may change from one appointment to the next, and it’s the reason why I allow plenty of time between appointments, so we can discuss any changes and ensure you get the full treatment time you have booked.

The time you book with me is ‘your time’ and it’s important to me that this time is valuable to you.

We often forget to look after ourselves and we forget how good it feels !

In the very busy and stressful lives we often all lead, time seems such a rare commodity and we can sometimes feel guilty for taking time out for ourselves when we seem to have endless ‘to do’ lists.

So please, allow me to take this moment to gently remind you….

The most important person on that list is you.

I hope to welcome you soon !

 Sam
